Asian Women of Achievement (AWA) Awards Gala Dinner 2009

Kishani Jayasinghe, winner of the AWA Award 2009 for Arts & Culture.Now in their 10th year, the Asian Women of Achievement (AWA) Awards, held in association with Lloyds TSB, celebrate the contribution of Asian women to British life in the media, business, the arts, politics and the voluntary sector. This year's winners were: Sri Lankan opera singer Kishani Jayasinghe, Veera Johnson, CEO of Procserve, Christina Vaughan - Image Source, Riz Lateef of BBC London News, Shaista Gohir of the Muslim Women's Network, DJ Neev Ranu, barrister Rehana Azib, dentist Dr Sunita Verma, and Vicki Treadell, British Deputy High Commissioner, Mumbai. Vin Murria, partner at Elderstreet Investments was named Asian Woman of the Year 2009.
