Syal in Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing',

Paul
Bhattacharjee has been cast as Benedick opposite
Meera Syals Beatrice in 'Much Ado about
Nothing' set in India. Shakespeares
comedy of love and deceit, produced by the
Royal Shakespeare Company and directed by
Iqbal Khan, is part of the World Shakespeare
Festival and will open in the RSCs Courtyard
Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon on 26th July
and run until 15th September 2012 before transferring
to London.

Emperor depicted in a new opera 'Babur in
London': March - Nov 2012 |

Opera Group is to tour its new production
'Babur in London' which depicts the first
Moghul Emperor in India. The production is
a haunting story of lives and love cut short
by anger, persecution and revenge. Combining
the poetry of Jeet Thayil , 'Babur in London'
explores multiculturalism in modern day society.

to Globe Festival: 21st April - 9th June 2012 |
The
Globe theatre presents over six weeks 37 international
companies performing Shakespeare's plays in
a different language including Atul Kumar's
Hindi interpretation of 'Twelfth Night' on
27th & 28th April: Arpana's Gujarati 'All's
Well that Ends Well' on 23rd and 24th May
and Theatre Wallay's Urdu 'Taming of the Shrew'
is on 25th & 26th May 2012.

| 'Tamasha 100'
investment in developing artists' scheme launched |
Following
a hugely successfully run of Ishy Din's debut
play' Snookered' Tamasha Theatre Co has launched
'Tamasha 100,' a scheme to support its developing
artists (TDA) programme. The aim is to recruit
one hundred donors willing to invest £100
for three years in the TDA initiative to discover
the next generation of unheard voices.
