ingenuity triumphs at the worlds first zero-carbon eGrandPrix

An
Indo-british team called 'Agni' has triumphed at the world's first
zero-carbon eGrandPrix (TTXGP), held on June 12, 2009 as part of the
traditional TT race programme. Agni is a motor manufacturer with a
factory based in Gujarat, who provided motors to half the competitors
on the day as well as romping home with the accolade of winning the
worlds first clean emission zero carbon Grand Prix.

Panthers to play IPL champions Rajasthan Royals, 6 July 2009 |
The
reigning Champions of the English Twenty20 Cup, Middlesex Panthers,
are to play the 2008 Indian Premier League (IPL) Champions, the Rajasthan
Royals (RR), in a Twenty20 match for the British Asian Trust, one
of the Prince of Wales' charities. The match will take place at on
6th July 2009 at Lord's. Bollywood superstar Shilpa Shetty is a co-owner
of the Rajasthan Royals.

Patel wins top prize at the British Asian Sports Awards 2009 |
Cricketer
Samit Patel, who is currently representing England in the West Indies,
won the coveted Sports Personality of the year award at the British
Asian Sports Awards on Saturday 21st February. Tennis player Vijay
Amritraj was recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Other winners
on the night includedManisha Chowdhary, aged 16 from Pinner in Middlesex
for Junior Sports Personality of the Year.

Samit
Patel, England's latest Indian-origin cricketer who joins his country's
squad after helping maul South Africa in a one-day match last week,
wants to try out his lauded strokeplay against India. Patel, a 23-year-old
batsman and left-arm spinner, helped defeat South Africa by six wickets
with nearly nine overs to spare by scoring an unbeaten 60 while turning
out for the England Lions.
